 Dianthus anatolicus

This attractive Dianthus forms a green mound with pretty pink and white flowers which cover it throughout the summer. As it only grows up to 10cm tall and originating in the hillside areas from  Turkey through to Tibet, it is an ideal rockery plant.
In traditional herbal medicine this pretty pink has been used to stop fevers. However today it is mostly grown for its sweet scent and for picking.

Dianthus knappii

Dianthus knappi is another alpine Pink, but the only one with flowers which are yellow, albeit with purple stamens. It grows to around 15cm and is drought tolerant making it ideal for either the rockery or the front of a sunny border.
This Pink is grown predominantly for picking as its scent will fill the room in which it is placed.
